Buying A House In Uk

Recommended Posts

Hi:

I´m going to buy a house in UK and I´m an Spanish resident who is moving to UK NOW for 3 years.

We´ve been to UK recently and found the property we want to buy. It seems that everything is ready and we are exchanging contracts soon. In Spain the standard proceadure to pay is with a bank cheque at the notary office.

We have been told that the standard proceadure in UK is to transfer the money to our solicitor´s account.

Is that the only way?

Thanks

Your solicitor should deal with all this, so you put the cash in the solicitors bank account.

On another point, what's the housing market like in Spain? Is it booming? Struggling?

Every now and then we hear about the famous bubble, but... my feeling is that in many provinces prices are still rising.

We sold a house in Tenerife last year (not in a touristic place) and the buyers have sold it this month 13 % more expensive.

however new houses market is slowing down. (which doesn't mean that the market is struggling, just that the prices are not going up as faster as they used to be last year).

Thanks for your answer and sorry for the grammar mistakes.
