Australia Price Falls

Recommended Posts

It seems to be widely accepted that prices are falling in some parts of Aus especially Sydney now that their base rate has moved to 6.0%.

Aus - Low Dec 01 4.25% today 6.0% thats a 43.75% increase and they are at crash speed

While in the UK - Low 3.5% today 4.75% a 35.71% increase, although its a bit early to draw any conclusion as the rate only just went up.

Another rise to 5.0% is an increase on the low of 42.85% which is almost spot on with Aus.

Conclusion - one more rise should do the job :D

whats was the salary to HP ratio in AUS at the peak? whats the current ratio?

If we're talking median salary to median HP; the Sydney ratio was about 8.5 at the peak. Still over 7.

I can't cut and paste on this terminal, but if you google 'sydney house price salary ratio 2006' a Sydney Morning Herald article will come up (address www.smh . . .) which references data from Demographia to that effect.
