Its Gordon's policy to keep the economy going with highly paid government workers at all levels doncha know?

What a joke. £145k for a local authority manager slot? They need to be put on television and on supermarket ntoice boards for everyone to see where the council tax is going. A little publicity will bring shame and disgust on them and make taxpayers wake up from their Miracle Economy sleep.

This abuse will continue untill people refuse to subsidise it by artificially propping up fiat money. Simple as that folks. You can either moan about it month after month or vote with your feet and move OUT of the currency.

I have to say I don't object to someone in London getting 60k for ensuring safety on one of the world's largest pieces of infrastructure. How many seconds of a halt in tube services would it take to cost the London economy that much. Of course - that is assuming they actually do a good job of ensuring security.
