Reid calls for migration debate

Home Secretary John Reid has called for a mature debate on the immigration challenges facing Britain.
Mr Reid said:
"We have to get away from this daft so-called politically correct notion that anybody who wants to talk about immigration is somehow a racist."
The skills migrants contributed had to be weighed against the burden placed on schools and hospitals, he told the BBC.
Mr Reid also highlighted his proposal for an independent committee to advise on the optimum level of immigration.

Is he gunning for No. 10? First bit of sense to come from NuLabour since the....er.... well you know, they must have done something right, haven't they?

Somebody has just realised votes are not going to NuLabour if they keep flooding this country with immigrants to take our houses, jobs and space. And--its owt to do with race as the farticle says.

Yeah, funnily enough we can thank the recent and impending influx from Eastern Europe for that... ie, the lefties can't exactly scream rascist if people moan about losing jobs and importing criminals as the E.Euros are white. Which implies an institutionalised inverted racism in the British race relations industry.

Unfortunately the chances of a "mature" debate are nil... the English have been indoctrinated with the notion that they are a. racist if they oppose immigration and b. responsible for all the inequalities in the world due to the fact they once had an empire. Immigrants have also been given this impression, to the extent that one group, eg Pakistanis, could fight with another, say Somalis, on the streets of a benighted northern town, believing it not to be racist, as there aren't any white people involved. I even heard an asian woman on a radio phone in the other day complaining about some black youths misbehaving in the street actually have the gall to say that she couldn't be racist because she was asian. Incredible.

Can't blame the immigrants though, its the English and 40 years of insane liberal policies that have let the situation arise.
