Todays 0.25% Will Be Feeling Like More Like 0.50%

Recommended Posts

I remember after the last rate cut last year all the talk was about more cuts this year, i even know of someone that bought a property because he was convinced rates were going to fall futher, he wanted to get in there first before property prices rocketed.

Can anyone else remember all the articles in the media(BBC included) who were ramping more cuts, you would have thought it was a 100% certainty. Todays cut of 0.25% was far greater for some of those that speculated on happier times.

I think you mean rise.

But I do remember how the BBC quoted someone who thought interest rates would fall at every meeting before christmas.

So far since this rate change, we've had one prediction of the next rates being down - from Assetz!

He/she was wrong to think IR would drop further but probably right that prices would rocket :D
