Barclays bad debt charge soars

By Stephen Seawright
(Filed: 03/08/2006)
bad loan charges rose 50pc to over £1bn in the six months to June
as concerns grow about debt levels in the UK.
Bad debt charges were £1.06bn compared to £706m in the same period last year. The surge in Barclays bad debt charges follow similar increases by rivals including Lloyds, HSBC and Alliance & Leicester.

More signs of the Miracle Economy of HPI-MEW unwinding. Higher IR will act as an accelerant. :o *
