I Don't Know That Much About The Economy....

Recommended Posts

I'm not that clued up on the economy, but to me it seems there are some really obviuos signs which point to hard times ahead (leading to HPC?)

I'm not going to dulge into all sorts of facts and figures (and couldnt anyway!), but take 2 simple subjects -

1. Interest rates, looking to be on the up? Apparently we follow America who have just had 3 x 0.25% increases in a row!? (Does anyone know if this is due to continue in the US?)

2. The FTSE has took a bit of a battering lately, (especially in June), surely the pending increase in interest rates will push this down further?

Have i got things wrong? Would be interested if anyone knows the real hard facts, but I just felt that the above is staring us all in the face!?

Sorry if i've stated the obvious!

Actually it was 17 x 0.25% increases in a row, rates went from 1% to 5,25% without a breather that's a wopping 425% rise in interest rates. However there mortgauge market is different.
