Realistbear Report post Posted July 24, 2006 They are going to hike TV licenses by 25% to help pay for the digital conversion work. The TV license WAS in Gordon's basket--it is no longer there and we all know why. Gordon has got as many disappearing tricks as Tommy Cooper with just as many foul ups. Key Retirement Solutions, which specialises in advising pensioners on equity release, said that while council tax bills had risen by an average of 96% in the last ten years, retired couples had seen their average incomes rise by just 27%. No inflation in the economy and no need for the BoE to raise the rates. Edited July 24, 2006 by Realistbear

I switched to these guys a few months back, and to be fair, they were reasonably priced. Looks like all energy suppliers are feeling the pain - inflation must surely take off soon in the UK (I mean the rigged Chinese Price Index, not the real rate of inflation that we all know is at least 6% unless you don't eat, drink, drive a car or heat a house...) Justice Report post Posted July 25, 2006 Look if brown says inflation is 2% it is and if Blair says we never had it so good then that’s also true. Trouble is some people believe these people have their best interests at heart, some people are stupid.
