Are you saying that the person governing Children's Services for a whole city should be lower calibre than an accountant in the private sector filling in people's tax returns?

If you think it's such a gravy train, why don't you apply for one of these jobs?

Are you saying that the person governing Children's Services for a whole city should be lower calibre than an accountant in the private sector filling in people's tax returns?

If you think it's such a gravy train, why don't you apply for one of these jobs?

(1) It is the job of parents to look after children, not local councils.

(2) Any competent mother could do the job of 'executive director of childrens services' and would be happy with £30K.

(3) Accountants earning £100K plus are rare.

(4) I would'nt apply for one of these jobs for the same reason that I would'nt choose to be a male prostitute.

Local councils have a passion for power and control. If parent so much as slaps a child these days, the local child care authority swings into action. This interference in family matters has completely undermined the traditional role of parents. As a result, children are becoming increasingly violent, lawless and drunken and we now have the biggest prison population (per capita) in the Western world. Society would be a lot happier and safer if all these interfering agencies were closed down. Things like 'child line' are good and if a child is mistreated it should be a matter for the courts.
