Talksport Discussing House Prices 12:15-1pm Today

Recommended Posts

keep us updated on this.

email from a guy in Bristol: hoping for a price crash as it is the only way he will ever be able to afford a home.

Caller: lady who owns 3 properties, loving it. Clearly loaded.

Caller: EA - situation is unsustainable, repos rising. Would prefer a steady market.

email: BTL is causing the problem, forcing out FTBs. Should be taxed heavily.

Caller in Essex: BTLer, providing a future pension. FTBs - don't care, look after number 1.

Just stuff like...

"don't want to miss the boat"

"I bought 6 BTLs"

"your house going up is a great nest egg"

"prices can only go up"

dickheads!

Keep us updated on this one too :) thanks

It was a waste of time really, 4 callers all ftb's explaining the problems of being a ftb at the moment but I got the impression that to the home owning listeners they would come across as whingers that as the presenter said "should lower their sights". The last 'ftb' was suspiciously keen on explaining the benefits of shared ownership.

They also did a text poll on who had made the most money out of property! One bloke bought a garage for £3k and sold for £150k to a developer, another in Northern Ireland has made £40k in 4 months!!:lol:

The programe was full of vulgar types bragging in a Loadsamoney fashion how much money they've "made" on their houses, whilst being dismissive of anyone not lucky enough to be "on the ladder"

Looking forward to a bit of schadenfreude in near future

Didnt hear it but I can imagine the types.

All I keep thinking about of this all being a repeat of the late 80's - this time period has been critisised since as being driven by greed and the yuppie types. Could this be a repeat again? - in 15 years time will will look back in condemnation of these tossers with their huge skills at getting 100,000's of pounds worth of mortgages and thinking they were suddenly rich?

A large chuck of the programme consisted simply of people texting in the highest amount they've made on a particular property!
