Interesting point from the article is that there are 700,000 BTL mortgages

When I looked up most recent stats for privately rented properties I found there were 2,385,000 in 2005. Link to earlier thread.

So, how are the 1,685,000 privately rented properties financed?

How many are owned outright with no debt?

How many have mortgages that aren't BTL?
