Public sector leads UK Summer Hiring Plans

06/07/2006 10:37:00

Employers in the public sector expect to hire more people this summer than their private sector counterparts, according to Manpower, the UK’s leading employment services company.
The research – detailed in the Manpower Employment Outlook Survey – reveals that 22 per cent of public sector employers will increase their headcount in the next quarter (July-September) and just five per cent expect to make cut-backs; compared to 17 per cent and six per cent respectively of those in the private sector.

To offset the loss of jobs in manufacturing, services (insurance and banking) and retail sectors. Gordon has to keep his HPI-MEW Miracle going somehow I suppose. :)

Human Resources functions were sold off to Manpower last year under the Privatisation of Everything Act 2005.

TBH, I doubt anyone knows what is going on in government at the moment except Prescott who is crystal clear about his getting a Christmas Card from TB this year.

But lets not forget - many of these new jobs are actually 'job cuts' in Gordon-land

A client of mine, a famous [now ex  ] NuLab London local authority recently notched up thousands of 'job cuts' to meet the Gershon Review and Browns target of 77,000 losses this year by....

Yes you guessed it, making them all re-apply for their old jobs [which of course they all passed the 'interviews' - even the uber-flakes!] which were then re-branded with a different job title.

1x Five-a-Day Officer sacked - tick that job-cut box! replaced by 1x Healthy-veg Manager - a brand new job, with a clever Brown public sector pay round bustin' pay rise thrown in as well to ease the transition for the poor council 'officers' By changing the job titles, the rise in wages doesn't get included in the pay rise inflation figures, as the new job has nothing to compare with for the previous years salary [as the job didnt officially exist]

You couldnt make it up [except in ex-communist eastern bloc regimes]

Tractor production up 200%!

Truly truly, a MIRACLE economy to be sure! Illusion that has actually worked on the sheeple. If only this story could be leaked to the Telegraph or some other non NuLabour paper! Manpower might be accidental whistleblowers?

well if any journos are reading it's hint-time....

its a central london authority with historically strong connections to NuLab HQ

its a big one

it has 6 letters in its name and starts with a C

Perhaps some of those political blogs that the government and BBC are getting their knickers in a twist about could take a look :)

Add to this all the 'temps', I have family working in government who are 'temporary' on 'temporary contracts' that are reviewed every few months, given a new title, & have been like this for the past 5 years, still with 'usual benefits' as if they were employed full time.

Funny you should mention that ... you know that Google record every search you make and the FBI have been trying to get the info out of them. I think long and hard now about what I type into their search box. My wife came up with an idea recently for a new theme for children's parties. I shudder to think how many times she typed the word child or children along with other words into Google to see if anyone else had thought of it first. No doubt the thought police have it recorded.

If anyone wants to start a Google up that does not record searches, I'll chip in.

That tuc biscuits thing is very considerate - thanks for including them in the package.

ROFL

Honestly you Pomms would be far better off reinstating the Monarchy. They'd cost less, you could blame someone else (seeing as you didn't elect them) and they wouldn't be selling themselves and the nation down the river in order to keep their jobs for a little bit longer.
