FAMILIES HAVE LESS TO SPEND

FAMILIES are 10 per cent worse off than four years ago because of rising mortgages and a massive increase in fuel bills, figures showed yesterday.
Disposable income for an average family with two children is down £82 a month.
The cost of running the home has soared by 30 per cent since 2002.
The report by accountants Ernst & Young shows average mortgages have doubled from £364 in 2002 to £604 this year.
And
utility bills rose by 40 per cent
to £88.72 a month. Monthly council tax bills are also up 30 per cent to an average £105.66.
Boss Tim Sleep said: "This all squeezes the typical UK household with many not able to spend freely." After tax and national insurance, a typical family has a monthly income of £2,640.82 up from £2,281.57. in 2002/2003.

While Gordon's MP3 players keep "inflation" down to 2% everything we need soars. How long will the public allow Gordon to keep the sham going? Will Mervyn step up to the mark like a man and hike the rates in line with the Fed--.75% up next meeting?
