Land Registry House Prices/nationwide Average Earnings Ratio

Recommended Posts

I plotted this out of interest. It's the Land Registry Data from 1995 - 2006

http://www.landreg.gov.uk/propertyprice/in...ppr_compare.asp

plotted against the Nationwide average salary data

http://www.nationwide.co.uk/hpi/historical.htm

I was trying to reproduce the graph on the home page for the available data to see if it showed the same trend. Can't really work out how it was done. This is good enough anyway I think. The data is too coarse to read much into it. The two peaks you can see on the home page appear to be evident (Jul - Sep 2004 and Jul - Sep 2005).

Got to the nationwide data and choose "First Time Buyer House Prices Earnings Ratio" that will yield a graph close to the home page.
