Standard Life Shares

Recommended Posts

Guest muttley

I justb got my allocaton from Standard Life due to an endowment I took out some years ago.

I was interested what other posters thought about the right to buy extra shares? For your information there is a 5% discount, plus an automatic issue of extra shares (1 for 20) if held for more than a year.Effectively a 10% discount.

Does anyone know much about the companies prospects? The endowment has been cr@p.

Privatisations have a tendency to do well for a few years.

Std is no better or worse than any other insurer.

If your fund (pension guy) is in with profits then transfer out - watch out for market value reduction. If unit linked then other transferrors should have no effect on your fund
