Bubble Mixture

Prices Down Becoming Common Knowledge

Recommended Posts

Was in a Basingstoke hairdressers yesterday, mentioned I was thinking of buying in a year or so. Said I was hoping for prices to come down. (I could almost see the thought bubble of woman sitting next to me, "Keep dreaming, mate!")

Hairdresser says "well they are coming down". Know what, shes right too according to LR (down 5.9% YOY)

The problem with this bubble is the common knowledge/wisdom that prices are only ever on the increase and a permanently good buy. This anecdotal gives me some faith that reality has somehow managed to work its way through the hype, albeit in a limited way.

Which one? I'm in need of a trim and if I can encourage this kind of thinking along the way, so much the better.

You know what they say: when the shoe shine boy and hairdresser start giving you investment tips, it's time to sell.

Or in this case, buy.

I knew the time to sell IT stocks was when i overheard a florist in Oxford start talking to her mate about the stocks she had bought on the advice of a friend which had gone up lots recently. Must have been late 1999......

Just watch what the pros do. There is a reason they are not on the streets or cutting hair
