Latest Figures Show Inflation In U K Is Racing Ahead

Recommended Posts

LONDON, June 12 (Reuters) - Sterling hit its strongest level this month against the euro and climbed versus the dollar on Monday after upbeat housing data and as
factory gate inflation picked up to its fastest pace in 8 months in May.
British house prices rose 5.1 percent in the year to April, compared with 3.3 percent in March, the government said.
The Office for National Statistics said output prices rose 0.3 percent on the month in May, taking the annual rate up to 3.0 percent from 2.5 percent.
Analysts had predicted a rate of 2.8 percent.

Looks like Gordon may have little choice but to step in line and raise the rates? Sooner and higher than he thought he could get away with perhaps.
