Welsh Minister 'rejects Right To Buy'

Recommended Posts

Not exactly a long article, but confirms what was mentioned on BBC Wales about the Welsh Assembly Government wanting to suspend 'right to buy' in Wales.

The amount of social housing available in Wales has halved from 300,000 homes to 150,000. The words gate, horse and bolted spring to mind.

The responce from the Tory Boy AM shows the Tories haven't changed, going on about how great a thing it is

It's usually for the wrong reasons though, usually councils simply want to move the existing public stock to some housing association quango for well below market value and then do a TTRTR. Clearly giving people their own homes at a discount is not in their interests, they'd rather the private body get the stock cheap, and there's quite a degree of cronyism in Welsh politics.
