karen1000
If you try "Viagra" it seems that UK men are having trouble below the equator! Too much binge drinking or HPI?
#scoobydoo#
The reason bletchley comes out in the top ten all the time is quite simple, their is a number of disused government nuclear bunkers there and they are now used as super secure server hosting farms for big companies and isp providers. The IP routing and tracing can only reach these points before the proxy blocks any snoops/hackers trying to identify the end users location etc. So it seems a hell of a lot of internet traffic must pass through this location making it an ideal place for the government to snoop on the internet activities of the UK population.... just a thought ! theChuz
If you were a government agent looking to prevent cells from their attacks you would probably start by looking at people who search for instructions on how to make bombs. Try "Make Bomb" http://www.google.com/trends?q=make+bomb&c...eo=all&date=all Or "how to make bomb" http://www.google.com/trends?q=how+to+make...eo=all&date=all Scary. Do you think this type of analysis is valid? They are SOO going to be monitoring you now, you typed it in twice, your doomed! Interesting to a point aint it

SCUMBAG
Not sure how accurate the google thing is-Bletchley seems to come up whatever you put in (I put in convent!) #scoobydoo#
Probably something to do with this place http://www.army.mod.uk/intelligencecorps/chicksands.htm Probably a massive underground bunker complex under that building with a roof that slides open to allow ICBMs to be launched just like Thunderbirds lol.... Guest Bart of Darkness
Well, you've convinced me - clearly we are all doomed. I've already put together my HPC survival kit of gold ingots, shot gun cartridges and tinned food (baked beans, twenty tins of). I'm also considering building a small bunker in case things get really bad Better make it a 1 person bunker with all those beans about. JollyBabe
while it's a very interesting tool, it gives you know clue whatsoever other than what people are searching on. As is the case with so many things like this, the key to look at is WHY people are searching on these terms - just because people search House Price Crash, it doesn't mean they are "worried" about it. They could be researching for an article, they could be looking into information about previous house price crashes, or they could be buyers/sellers doing their research about the market. Given the obsession this country has with house prices, it's unsurprising that it is a highly searched for term. Let's face it, the people on this site probably make up for more than half of the searching!! Bet if you look up Metatarsal, it's searched on more than any other bone in the body due to recent England team members' unfortunate injury of this bone - but there will be people searching on it for completely unrelated reasons. It just won't show up and could be coincidental. It indicates trends, but a lot more analysis, research and questioning is necessary for the qualitative reasons behind information like this for it to be of any use. The nation IS searching ---- There is always a reason. 1) House Price Crash in UK is not widley reported and is a dirty word on TV and the national press. There is no reason why people would have an outside prompt to search for this except that they are begining to beleive its on the way. 2) The UK is not a nation of journalists an i doubt that you can say that the searches are for journalists... besides... they are forbidden to write HPC stories... how many HPC stories about the UK are published here at the momment or the recent past. 3) This just leaves the BTL, FTB and buyers sellers. And because there are so many people searching for that term to qualify for the stat analysis on google and because it is being searched for does show that people are thinking about it. If your experiencing good times why ever look for the bad? 4) Roony Metatarsal - Well, there is an outside promt and can not be compared with 1) Edited June 7, 2006 by coolaftershave

If your experiencing good times why ever look for the bad? 4) Roony Metatarsal - Well, there is an outside promt and can not be compared with 1) 1. It's not widely reported because the house prices have not been crashing over the past decade, they've been rising. However, people are aware of the fact they can happen and might be looking into any reports that have made it into the public arena on the topic. And they've happened in the past, so people might be interested in why they happened in the past. 2. No, but there are journalists in the nation and a lot of regional papers etc etc, who will make up SOME of the people searching. With the accessibility of the internet to the people in this county, people searching on any term will be made up of a wide variety of people all with different reasons for searching on the same term - journalists researching articles, economics students researching essays, potential purchasers/sellers researching a major decision, joe bloggs who just heard it somewhere and thought he'd see what he finds etc etc. 3. People are thinking about it - but I would suggest that anyone who is considering buying a property and DIDN'T think about it is a fool. I would hope that anyone buying a property considers the potential that it might happen, what if it does, can they deal with it etc. Yes, there will be some people who foolishly jump blindly into overstretching themselves and not planning for how they would deal with it if it does occur, but I suspect a good proportion of people budget and plan their property purchases/sales and might be considering how any dip/crash would affect them 4. It was just illustrative and my overall point was this, from the fact that a term is being searched, whether it's house price crash, drought, road tax, petrol prices etc etc, it is impossible to conclude the reasons behind why people are searching on it other than that they are interested in it. You cannot possibly conclude that we as a nation are more "worried" than others, simply that we are more interested or that we search on it more. Further research is necessary in order to find out WHY people are searching. Edited June 8, 2006 by JollyBabe
