Negative Company Announcements Up Sharply

In today's Scotsman

KPMG's head of corporate recovery yesterday expressed surprise at a bleak couple of months for negative company announcements.

UK figures showed warnings for the three months Feb to April 2006 were up 36% on the same period last year - at 1,296....

He sayed they showed a stark picture and highlighted 'almost every sector is showing a rise'

Building and construction especially showed negative warnings at a two year high, rising by 63% for the three months to April (56 in 2005, 91 in 2006).
