spoon
This tells me they are desperate to call an end to their hiking cycle whilst still maintaining some semblance of credibility in it's fight against inflation. It wouldn't be the first time the Fed has finished off a long hiking cycle with a large 50bp hike. I think there's a real risk they do just that in the June meeting combined with a clear message they are done hiking for now. spoon
As I predicted the futures markets are now pricing in a modest chance the Fed does 50 bp in it's Jun 29th meeting.
