Inflation And Deposits

Just wondering what peoples thaughts are reagrding deposits and how inflation may affect them. Altough Im happy to save and see what happens pricewise, It worrys me about inflation eating away at that deposit, Are we just pissing into the wind in that respect ?

In this case, it's houseprice inflation that affects your deposit. So as long as HPI is greater than the interest you receive, it is being eaten away. If HPI goes negative then your deposit grows wrt. houses.

As long as your deposit is just that, no other inflation really matters.
