Prize Bonds

Recommended Posts

Anyone have an opinion or experiences on prize bonds ? I have £10k to invest for about 1 to 3 years and was thinking of putting maybe £5k in prize bonds and the rest in ISA or similar, Any thoughts or suggestions would be great, thanks.

You can put up to 30k in Premium Bonds. You dont get paid interest but you could win prizes. Also your capital is guaranteed by the government.

An ISA allows you to put 3k cash into a mini-isa per annum.

I find the ISA useful, the interest is tax free. Have a look around.

I think theres a place called moneysupermarket that shows you the best rates.

Remember if you take money out of an ISA you CANNOT put it back in so be sure you want to lock your money away.

I have won a little bit on prize bonds 50, 100 nothing much and I just reinvest it.

Of course the best thing to do if youre really worried is to speak to a qualified Financial Advisor.

Best of luck

thanks for that info. I have spoken to some Financial Advisors in the past but i cannot warm to them, I feel if they are only out for their own interests, Cynical old me !!
