Well done guys!

Not the thing that pissed me of the most, but nice to see your listening.

The only problem - in my eyes is vertical ads in the forum area. Have no problem with them on the front page but to lose 15% screen area is a problem. Reassess your strategy for this.

Introduce it as a POP UP (which I hate), then those that find it annoying can at least block it, or click it shut.

the ads should be horozontal as vertically it just squashes up the forum ffs.

Thanks teddyboy, we're trying.

In terms of the ads on the left we've looked at this carefully and have been working with some ad specialists which is why we've placed them where we have. I think once the 'proper' ads start appearing instead of the Google ads then you won't notice them as much.

We need ad revenue to keep introducing new features to the site but we still want to look for compromises and we don't go out of the way to piss everyone off even though some people think that.

Some people have suggested that we could have a paid subscription service that would give you the full screen real estate back ad free (adblockers just block ads and give you whitespace). This isn't something that we've considered yet, but what would be your thoughts on this if we added some extras aswell like a housepricecrash.co.uk email address and maybe a few other extra goodies for a very small yearly subscription?

Sorry WM - seemed to have forgotten about this post :)

As other people have said, it is the members that make the site. To add subscription costs (although optional) would justify what CONSA had complained about. I think any costs to members at this stage would be FINANCIAL SUICIDE on FUBRA plans. What you de get is A LOT of peoples time. They research, browse and compile, for yourself and FUBRA FOC and in part maintain the site. To ask them to pay for the pleasure is not an option imho.

We know the reaction of people to www.ourproperty.co.uk. Its not that it is not up-to-date or user friendly, its becuase you HAVE TO SUBSCRIBE. Whilst I have been a subscriber for 12 months or more, I do NOT mind this registration process. However, a lot of people do. If there was a charge for thing then this would deter members.

What you could do is offer products. T-Shirt, Mugs etc (the usual tat) and anyone who buys these are obviously regulars and die hard HPC'rs. They could then get ad free as a loyalty bonus.

My main point is not that there are adverts. I dont mind that TBH. FFS go to www.liverpoolfc.tv and you will see what I mean! I just feel that there OTHER options available before you lost 15% screen. I am not a liker of pop-ups but at least you get the option to close them and you get full screen estate.

As I posted elsewhere. Lets fill the horizontal adverts first with sponsors and then, when needs must, tackle this problem?
