Facing The Music In Bingley...

Recommended Posts

About a year ago I went to look at some new flats that were being built. The Prices for two-beds started at £165K. Newly finished flats in the development are now popping up on RightMove every day at £125K!!!

What's Rightmove HPI Index saying about asking prices in your area?

It says 2.3% for April in Yorkshire and Humberside, but that hardly addresses more local issues. Is there something more local? If so, where?

What do the HBOS regional quarterly figures say:

Closest matches to Bingley (2005 end Q1 to 2006 end Q1):

Shipley: -4%

Keighley: +6%

dosen't tell you much really.

It shows there is an over supply of the over rated apartment market. And assuming the pitched price last year was suppose to be conducive to tempting off plan purchase, it just shows how prices can collapse when sentiment turns.
