Huddersfield Prices

Recommended Posts

I went into Bovis homes today at Lindley. They confessed that the market is dead. Picked up at the beginning of the year and has since gone flatter than last year. Which they said was bad.

There are absolutely loads of houses on the market. I drove round brighouse and meltham tday and it is amazing how many houses with for sale boards up.

On my close there are two houses for sale one at £335,000 (sold and back up) the other at £315,000 (sold and back up the same week at 20k less). I think the surveyor valued it a lot less. There has been very little interest in either.

I just wonder what the IR rises are going to do to this dire market.

Bovis said two years ago they could put anyone in the showhomes to sell the houses. Now they have to really sell them. But he said they would not bring them down in price (although was eager to take me name and address just in case).
