Many on this site have been predicting economic turmoil worldwide for many weeks now.

Am I alone in wondering why our Chancellor has made no comment

No more boom and b..bu......

I think when he said "no more boom and bust" he was talking about taking Basil Brush off the televisual screens and banning breasts.

Gordon is a statesman, he can't be concerning himself with the trifling piffle of bombing stock markets, unsustainable debt and insane house prices.

If you notice its tony whos been filling the news this week with controversial topics normally avoided like the plague by a politician, Vivisection and nuclear power if fox huntings in the news later this week you know they are realy covering Something ? up .

Maybe he is on a suicide mission?

Ach aye the noo! Some of ye may have been under the impression that I have been acting as a prudent chancellor of the exchequer, taking care of the nation's money and all that. But the truth is, I've been selling off the family silver to pay for me online gambling habit. In a few week's time, the national debt is being handed over to our eastern friends in Gazprom. Naw, don't ye be worrying about it 'cause yer house prices are so high that ye can be borrowing against them for years to come and if anyone asks for the money back, just declare yerself bankrupt!

I wonder if Tony is trying to set up his "legacy", e.g. he was the one who tackled the difficult issues.

Except he never has really.

Like leaving countless people essentially homeless, being payed deflated wages with no prospect of a real pension or retirement. Or leaving toxic waste that will span generations, that is quite a legacy, nobody will forget that in a hurry.
