Markets Booming, But Jobs Disappear

Recommended Posts

Working in the I.T. sector - I am aware of several manufacturing companies both in Ireland and the UK who have migration projects running or just starting for operations in eastern Europe and Asia.

My estimate of total direct employment in these companies is around 20,000, while not all will be closed a significant number will go over the next two years.

What if we summarily kicked out every single immigrant, then every single country in the world did the same with our 'ex pats' over there.

Does anybody have any figures to illustrate how this would affect our population?

I suppose on the plus side we could fly the Union Flag & have Father Christmas back in the shopping arcades.

Why shouldn't company's here, employ migrants. The fact is they are cheaper, harder working and will do a few extra hours for nothing with only a little pursuasion. The British can get as much money on state benefits anyway, so don't want to work. Migrants are better educated and more honest as well, Poles especially.

Company's prosper when the wages they are forced to pay out are cut, profits increase and bonuses at the top of the pay pyrimid increase healthily. More money to invest, more profits.

The British, known to all, under the CBI, have ruined this country with thier greed. Trade union insistence on worker rights and the minimum wage have forced productive company's to find more co-operative arrangements abroad. This is changing, migrants can come here and homegrown lazy labour can be short circuited this way.

Sooner or later the British worker will see the error of thier ways. Trade unionism will be demolished along with the company punishing minimum wage. The market will finally run the show, the free movement of capital, goods and labour will finally bring us the global prosperity we desire.

God bless capitalism.

We can't blame the immigrants on the job losses that is for sure.

The "Miracle Economy" that Gordon Brown has created is responsible for HPI and MEW. When you have massive debt you need wages that go along with that reality. Companies will hire people who will work for less and who can AFFORD to work for less. The influx of immigrants that may be taking jobs that would otherwise go to indiginous workers is simply a matter of economics, not race.

The immigrants are willing to work hard and live as multiple families in a single residence. True, they cannot afford a single dwelling but they can afford to work here if they double and even quadruple up. I have seen this in California with Mexicans and South Americans moving in and people wondering how they afford the sky high prices (California house prices are about the same as the UK). Simple, 4 or 5 familes per house and there are enough immigrants to keep house prices going.

HPI and MEW must continue if Gordon's Miracle Economy is to keep going. Most Brits are priced out now so Gordon must look overseas to keep the flow of people coming who can pay high prices for a home and fill the jobs that the indigenous population cannot afford to do because they need to earn more to pay for their sky high mortagages and MEW debt.

IF immigration were cut off the Miracle Economy would collapse on itself due to affordability issues. I am not sure if Gordon will be able to keep it going much longer as the point will soon be reached when even the immigrants living multiple families to each home cannot afford it.

I am not sure though if it is a Miracle Economy but more a bloody nightmare. :o

You don't need a Cray computer to see whats happening. And the problem has nothing to do with migrant labour. If anything migrant labour has helped keep the ship afloat.

The Government have run the country as a cash cow for 10 years. They have asset stripped businesses, pensions and a million other places. They have committed us to debt and liabilities on a massive scale. They have undermined farming, transport and industry. They have forced Universities to cut science departments.

This has given them short term popularity but at a terrible cost to the economy. People have been saying for several years that their policies would cost jobs. The reality is that this government have cost us a million jobs since they came to power. The effects of this have been hidden by massive recruitment of jobs like diversity officers in the public services. Now they have maxed out on public spending and can no longer hide the carnage with public appointments.

This all reminds me of a Simpsons episode where Homer is elected head of the sanitation department. He becomes hugely popular but in doing so manages to spend the annual sanitation budget within a few weeks. To raise more money he signs a contract with a waste company which turns Springfield into one big landfill site.

Sums it up well. Yes, Gordon's miracle is really nothing more than a debt generating economy that has asset stripped anything that actually produces anything. What we have to show for his stewardship is 1.2 trillion pounds of personal debt and houses most of us cannot afford and will be able to afford even less when IR start rising this summer. I have the feeling that the "good times" paid for with debt are about to end.

Hear hear!!

Admirably well put.

They have also created many 'Mini Me's' in their own image, also maxed out & can no longer hide it.

Might have to rename this site soon to 'Crash'.

I suppose on the plus side we could fly the Union Flag & have Father Christmas back in the shopping arcades.

Why is that - all the anglo saxons would have to clear off back to mainland europe where they came from in the first place taking their flag of a patron saint of syphilis from the middle east with them and their Scandanavian Winter Gods too leaving Britain for the Britons - i.e The Welsh, Cornish and the Scots - the Scots that is who aren't Irish or Vikings - they'd have to b++ger off back to Norway or Denmark - or even Normandy.......

Yes, yes and yes, Government selected is NOT here to protect us... citizens of GB but to protect pure capitalism.

I guess you'd have to include all the citizens of the good ol' US of A & those in OZ also, to earmark a few for re-patriation.

Doesn't bear thinking about really, does it?

It's migration that put the Great in GB so there has to be some comeback I suppose.

I expect England will soon become too full so the good point is that we will have to spill into wales so at least that part of the world won't consist completely of narrow minded non English speaking bigots.

I should have put a smiley in my original post - didn't want to offend anyone just making the point that the whole repatriating thing is such a can of worms you really don't wanna go there....

Yeah, spot on

Folk can bang on all they wish about foreigners nicking our jobs & there ought to be measured immigration, more tightly controlled as other countries manage to put into practise(or do they really), but to adopt a view of Britain for the British is ridiculous.

It's 'media' whipping up frenzy in an attempt to cloud other issues.

A total of 234,483 votes (excluding the two disputed wards) was cast in favour of BNP candidates which across the 354 wards gives us an England national average of 18.1%

18.1% of people voted for the BNP in seats the contested

you say as you wish, but obviously the message is getting through, we are the fastest growing political party in the uk.

we must be doing something right

Yes, you're scaring people with low intelligence into voting for a Nazi party. That's why you targetted Barking, which has a very high level of very poorly educated people.

For generations this nations workforce have had to make sacrifices, have worked hard for the future, and have invested in the future for future generations.

New Labour themselves created the various rules and regulations sourounding employment, minimum wage, holiday entitlement, sick pay, and pensions. Not to mention human rights.

So it is amazing that having burdened business with these additional costs, they then actively promote offshoring, and importation of cheap immigrant labour to work on the black market to bolster up the economy by pushing wages down.

Anyone would think they were trying to destory the United Kingdom..................Hang they are, they are Scottish, and they are pro Europe Superstate is it any suprise they are destroying the British Nation in favour of a Socialist Superstate ?.

I have often given the opinion that a lot of the manifestos & mission statements advocated by the BNP make sense, are simplistic & have the backing of a degree of the voting public. A lot of it is common sense 'bloke on the street' viewpoint.

However I doubt the controlling body of the BNP have the expertise or experience to run the economic strategies of a country, this is backed up by the anti immigration lobby.

We MUST have a degree of integration with other countries both culturally & financially. This is as much common sense as the other BNP views but is unfortunately ignored.

We simply could not go singly cultural. We also cannot possibly condone the hatred & violence associated with the BNP at the present.

The most likely thing to happen is that the Labour party will hi jack the common sense popular views from the BNP & market them as their own as they did with the Tory manifestos till Labour morphed into the Tory party but with a different figurehead.

I don't doubt the BNP is indeed gathering strength but the leading political parties are not all complete buffoons, they will see this, look at why & take action accordingly.

The voting public are also not all buffoons & if there was the slightest chance of a political party coming into power while advocating civil violence in this country then I believe there would be the highest ever turnout at the polling stations ever to prevent this!

BNP needs to stand for a common sense, justice for the wronged, proper deterrent for the offenders, etc. of a multi cultral society. Even then there will be mistrust of a hidden agenda, look what Labour have managed to do to this country getting elected on a string of false promises & failing to deliver on any.

Just been on the news that 50% of muslims in the UK aged over 25 are unemployed.

If this is the case then we should stop letting polish people in and let the muslims have jobs instead.

Nah, the best person for the job should get it, regardless of their ethnic background. The others should stop whining and try harder.

Are these male or female muslims & are they in receipt of any benefit?

Sounds a bit like scant facts to generate scaremongering.

If you have not read this vis a vis the US economy, it is all good stuff. Or bad stuff, depending on how you look at it.

iTulip

Read the news with AntiSpin, down on the left hand side.

It relates to the USA, but it may as well be us, let's face it.
