Property For Sale In Leicester

Recommended Posts

I haven't been getting the local paper on Saturday when the property for sale supplement is included. And I haven't kept track of its size as some people have. But there seem to be an awfully large number of properties for sale. Many, many, of these are "new" or "new price". On the back page there's a big advertisement with "discounted" newbuild properties.

Inside the property section there are a number of puff pieces saying that there is no end in sight for the booming market. BTL is a great investment, yadda yadda.

But 3bed+ properites in my area (postcode +1/2 a mile) on rightmove have continued their steady rise, reaching 73, up from 70 last time I looked, and the highest figure I've ever seen. Oh, and the cheapest property in my list has had its price reduced by 4K, making a new cheapest property.

I have been watching the Leicester market now for about 3 years. There are many reductions across the board. According to the Land Registry, detached houses in Leicester went down 7.6% last quarter alone - if I've read it right?! There have been houses up for sale for over a year near where I live, near Thurcaston. Although it is true, houses are still shifting.
