Impact Of Btl

Recommended Posts

I keep coming back to this as the difference in the market between the '89 crash and now.

Can anyone explain what they think will happen to BTL's if sentiment in the market shifts?

As I see it (bear with me here)

If you have a portfolio of BTL property you're either looking for 2 things.

1) A reasonable annual yield - higher than you could get in the bank on any capital you've put in.

2) The tenants to cover your mortgage so you can reap the capital later.

So the investor in property would begin to bail when the yield drops but the attached buyer (people with one BTL say) will hang on longer as they just want the mortgage paid off

Is that right?
