M&S Tuna Cucumber baguette last week £2.30 yesterday £2.50 thats a rise of 8.7%

Pret a Manger breakfast egg and bacon baguette 2 weeks ago £1.50 today £1.60 rise of 6.6%

And your trying to tell me inflations at 2%, wake up BoE

Is there sandwich shop cartel?

Something else I've noticed happening. Go and buy your non-shop-brand battered / bread-crumbed chicken and look at the ingredients.

A few months ago, it was around 90% pure breast meat - I was happy I wasn't putting anything too "processed" in my mouth.

Now, today - look at the pack. Around 60-65% pure meat. The rest is now water, pea starch, and so on.

Either prices go up, or our standard of living (and quality of our food) goes down. I already know people in Singapore and China that won't buy anything but FRESH 100% breast meat - and it's very affordable over there.

Scary stuff, really. But I guess it's happening - just that no-one is noticing.

I bought an M & S salad for £2.29 last week. A few weeks ago it was £1.99. 6 months ago, it was 2 for £3 (£1.50).

I purchased that same salad and also a bottle of Still Mineral Water, last week the water was 60p Today that same bottle was 69p!

Maybe its just M&S

Boots still do meal deals at £2.99

Yeah, but their sushi packs are smaller than 6 months ago.

Still bloody good value, for the price of a crappy Ginsters sandwich, I can get a large bottle of freshly squeezed orange juice, a good sandwich, salad or sushi pack & a bag of cashews.

Especially the green ones, they're the healthiest.

I am finding Sandwiches much cheaper these days.

Last year a Romanian Sandwich in Soho would cost around 120 quid, today less than 45.

Spit Roast also are much cheaper, at least 50% this year.

Maybe Gordon should empty his shopping basket and change the products the reflect the low inflation we all enjoy today.

Stealth Pricing Policy

They lower the price of ready made curries by 5%, then add 10% to the price of toilet paper!

Tissues have also gone up by about 10% in Tesco, more people crying perhaps?

I've also noticed that M&S pizzas have also got smaller?

I'm glad I've hoarded TP then. I buy TP once a year in Costco in huge quantities.

I like those M&S pasta pots. The small ones are now £2 (were £1.80!) and the big ones are now £3.00 (were £2.80) ! I was outraged. ! Where's my salary increase to match.

Stick that in your CPI basket and smoke it why don't you.
