Cut The Cost Of Living A Little

I know this is a little off topic, but is relevant to all those who want to save every penny possible.

Moderators please feel free to move this thread after everybody has had a chance to see it.

Good luck to them, though I see it's already dropped from 10p to 5-7p.

So it'll finish at around 3p then, eh? :)

BTW, to really cut the cost of living you need to move closer to work, sell the car then walk/bike to work. More healthy too!

Depends: there was a study last year claiming that the harm caused by breathing in diesel spew (e.g. from buses) while cycling more than compensated for any health benefits.

Of course if you live in the country rather than the city, that may not apply.

Hi Mark do you have a source of that study please. I would like to know what the crap is in those bus/lorry fumes and wheter the pollution masks are effective

Other than NOX, CO, SO2, and VOC's, the main killers from diesel are PM10 and PM2.5. A good mask should protect you from these particulates but not the gases.
