I live in a nice area, plenty of wine bars and cafes.

I was walking to the bank when a group of 3 blokes in their 30s were walking past the estate agents.

One had stopped and was pointing at a property in the estate agent window and almost wetting himself with laughter. He beckons his pals back and as they came over he was like £XXXXXXX for a terraced house here??!! They were all laughing in disbelief.

This isn't London; it’s a village in the North West.

People buying these places today must be mortgaged up to their necks, theres no way local wages can sustain the price rises.

I'd reached that stage 3 or 4 years ago.

Still, better late than never.

I try to do this as often as possible when walking through my local town....childish I know, but it may actually get through to people in the end...
