Need A Quick Sale?

Recommended Posts

Found this thread over on Channel Four's "Homes Forum" ... seems to just about sum up the mindset of a greedy seller!

Trying to sell a one bedroom flat in Chelmsford for £160k!!! Despite a number of other posters suggesting that the price is way too high, this muppet is obviously focused only on profit and how because others have sold for similar then surely they are also 'owed' the same!!! Here are some of the best bits (from the seller)...

what to pricey? It is detached and situated in a no through road. One that is exactly the same as ours but semi detached and situated right on the road recently sold at £156k
Yes Matt built above 3 garages. Blimey no prices in Chelmsford are way above 120k for a flat...valuations varied from 155k to 168k. Don't forget 45minute train journey to London from Chelmsford with a very regular service.
Well found a place we love and need a certain amount of equity from this place to be able to buy it. So with the price as it is it leaves room to negotiate without being excessive or doing ourselves out of a house.
I dragged the other half (his flat) kicking and screaming to shop for plants for the front and also have moved box of cd's from under the bed and dressed it up a bit with throw cushions etc.

Sorry, but how is moving a box of CDs from under the bed going to help?

Be interesting to see if this HIP idea coming out next June will help with sealing a sale.

Will be interesting to keep an eye on the property over the next couple of months and see how far down they have to bring the price to sell it... http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-687...pa_n=1&tr_t=buy

There is an old trick to catch monkeys -- you put an orange into an amphora shape container, and when the monkey grabs it, making a fist, the opening is too narrow for it to withdraw it's arm. With the creature thus incapcitated, they are easy to collect, because they will not let go of their prize, no matter what.

This has certain similiarities ... :D
