Property Market Bites Back.

Recommended Posts

Just found this through the new economics sub forum, it made me smile so I thought I would share...

http://www.investopedia.com/terms/a/alligatorproperty.asp

Watch out TTRTR, don't go into the water... ;)

The article says;

'One way to get around the negative cash flow situation is to buy property with a large down payment, thereby reducing the mortgage payment'.

What kind of a half-baked idea is that? Mortgage payments may be reduced, but the notional loss of earnings on the down payment must be factored in too. They clearly have no grasp of opportunity costs.
