I like this programme - I think he is very realistic and is not afraid to upset people. Business is business and he treats it that way.

Have a lot of respect for him - even if he is an Estate Agent :)

In the last episode I watched he said it was a very very very good time to buy in the uk now. :o

Is he trying to cash in and team up with Phil and Krusty?

That was a couple of weeks ago, I think it was to that couple that built a swimming pool and annexe in the garden of their spanish home without planning permission. Anyone with a brain could have told them they had made a big mistake.

How the hell did he get involved, surely somebody else before could have told them. it makes you wonder.

They must have wrote in to british tv in a last desperate hope.

Ah I'm loving these people, don't know the difference between neutral and boring, and they expect to sell their house without putting any effort in.

Property porn is getting a bit tedious now, boring old living rooms in grim British weather, the part greed, part changing rooms, part garden tat format is worn out, each one of those elements have been run into the ground. <_< This is reflected in the sales figures for B&Q, MFI et al, it must be reflected in the viewing figures too.

The days of glamorous barn conversions with £20k kitchens being totally Beenied and selling for £170k are well over, now we just have the dross... they're just polishing a turd.

*yawn*

Didn't look too bad to me - not worth the effort changing. After all it is in a cheap part of the country. Lower the price by £10k and they would have a sell.

God, this programme is boring, there's some smooth Alpacas on BBC One :-

They're a wonderful planning dodge.

Fooling the same fools again.

"ooh, I like the wallpaper" , "ooh I like the table" - it's a sale!!!!

DIY,B&Q rubbish thrown at an average semi to fool amateur investors, struggling FTBs and families.

Only good thing about AW , he's not afraid to say the market could crash.

In fairness to him - this was recorded late last Summer (I presume) and then it WAS a BUYERS MARKET in the UK.

Its only the last 3 months that its turned into a sellers market for a FEW AREAS ONLY. The rest are still buyers markets.

I used to think that, but now realise that this programme is as stupid as all the others that are on. Take tonights show for example - "We'll transform this house for just £3.5k".

So, I counted five people in the garden, and at least as many in the house. New carpets, kitchen, bathroom, floor polishing, wall stripping, redecorate, etc., etc. - all done by expensive professionals. That "£3.5k" refurb would cost you or me (i.e. out here in the real world, not the la-la land of TV) at least £10-15k.

Knock off the £5k that had to reduce the price by even then to sell (and did it really sell? Not just the potential lies given at the end of the programme about "an offer being accepted") and the mortgage payments, stamp duty, etc. - then it doesn't look that great an investment - and remember - they bought in the boom days...

Sorry, but this programme is still largely one-sided "you can't loose on property" just like all the rest. Kirsty and Phil would be proud. :D
