Florida News From Our Old Neighbours

Found this article on MSN last night. We had a house in Florida up to the end of last year when we sold it. We have been going there for the past 4 years or so but the kids are bored with it now and it is too hot in summer and hurricane risky, so we made the decision to sell. We got a few viewers, but not masses and we sold to another BTL and we took the offer going so we could sell it.

Main thing to report is that other friends who either live there or have holiday homes there are telling me that the market has clearly topped big time. While prices still appear OK on the face of it, they are not moving. With the rise of personal debt problems in the USA, there is no way anyone there can see how this downswing can be reversed in the short term, so it is only likely to accelerate.

I can't believe it is anything but a matter of time before we start seeing this too.

The survivors of the Titanic recall how, just before the great ship went to the bottom, there was an eerie calm. Its like the roller coaster that reaches the top of the peak--the rattle and the noise stops, resistence starts to give way and before you know it you are hurtling downward with no choice but to go with the ride.

The Bulls are behaving much the same way in the UK market. They know everything points to a crash but hold on to the hope that it will be different this time.
