yet March retail sales (MOM) + 0.7% (higher than 0.3% expected)

(YOY) + 2.6% (higher than 2.4% expected)

strange that the ONS should focus on one aspect of the release in their headline - didn't think they had an agenda.

On the footfall figures and early profit indications easter was a disaster, unless something causes a pick up soon (and the world cup is a long way away) we are heading for significant high street retail job losses.
