Smell the Fear
Ok, let's see if HPCers are fatter or slimmer than the average. Does that high savings rate translate into malnourishment, or are we lean and mean? Or is too much STR fund being spend on foie gras and fine wines? Here's how to work out your BMI: BMI = weight in kilos/ (height in metres)^2 so take your weight in kilos, and divide it by your height in metres (2 decimal places) squared. For those not so familiar with numbers, here is an example: weight: 80kg height: 1.8m BMI = 80/(1.8 squared) = 80/3.24 = 24.7 To convert your height in inches to cm, multiply it by 2.54 (e.g. 70 inches = 177.8cm) To convert your weight in pounds to kg, divide it by 2.2 (e.g. 160 pounds = 72.7 kg

Nijo
5ft 11 (1.80) and 65kg: 20 BMI. When I was travelling a lot I went down as low as 53kg (16 BMI). That was bad.

aussieboy
I have no idea what this measure means. What is a good value? 15-20 Underweight 20-25 Normal 25-30 Overweight 30+ Obese It's a very crude measure, but handy in a Sudanese refugee camp scenario for prioritising new arrivals. Don't forget: the optimal proportion for marathon runners is a kilo an inch.
dunroamin
far too fat. on the sunniest day of the year yet i find myself on the couch with beer, laptop and football on the tele (flatmate enforced) - so not helping matters. Probably been moved to the 'Is Fred A Nice Man' forum as I erroneously posted it in the main one. come on shaker - don't be shy. it was an important discussion ..... fred

Catch22
Tis true that you will have lost a few cm by your age. Have you tried viagra? Nar, I don't need it. hee hee wifes just brought me a cuppa tea , and read your post . Which prompted her to say, Darren's always on the phone to his mate pestering him for viagra [Darren's an young guy in her office] He and his mate are both in their twenties, and the doctor proscribed them to Darren's mate coz he was depressed. Huh in my young days they just told you to "pull yourself together" Funny thing is one of my email address's has been spamed and I keep getting viagra spam nigh on a daily. But as I use "mailwasher" I just delete it whilst it is still in my mailbox back at my ISP. They use many different email addresses to get around the spam filters. Anybody wanting to delete spam or check contents of emails before downloading them onto your computer should use Mailwasher

Have they been indoctrinated into HPC yet? existing one always was. when i interviewed him to move in last year, he said "i've got blar blar as a deposit in the bank and i'm waiting for the house price crash" - you're in (i thought ) new one - quite sadly, is a typical product of todays britain. graduated about a year ago and is basically screwed. stacks of debt etc. she has heard my thoughts - but basically doesn't care. home ownership is not even on the radar. to stay on topic though - she is very thin .... grrrrr  34-25-34 Does that count? and you can shurrup an all!
