First Topic?

Recommended Posts

Yep. Glad to see it.

Maybe the important econonics threads can be moved here after seasoned viewings from the main forum?

But hopefully we do not deprive ourselves of the broad based economic content of posts on the Main Forum? The economic arguments/debates/info over the years have done wonders for the financial literacy/numeracy and understanding of many users, are what takes this site above many other boards which do not explore the real economics behind HPs, and we should not push it all down to a forum which will not garner such high use (with the best will in the world, a forum headed "economics", while interesting to me, is not going to catch as many viewers as a post on the main board).

I would say this forum should be used for more detailed or technical or in depth discussions or, as you say, where a topic has come off the main board.

A caveat would be that if the forums become too fragmented we may lose impact and focus on the main board.

Not sure that this forum is really going to work. Anything economical ends up in the main forum anyway and we can always find a link to house prices. Perhaps it can be a section for discussion of the latest HP economic papers?

Maybe this forum should be the destination for many of the threads that people complain are off-topic or that have "seasoned", as some put it, on the main forum. On-topic and off-topic is quite black and white. An economics forum might be suitable for stuff that's indirectly relevant as opposed to completely irrelevant.

Come on mods, get moving those "seasoned" topics! :)

I agree. Although we could all help the mods out by requesting releveant threads to be moved after 'seasoned' viewings...
