BillyShears
This is apparently a "detached" house. Surely there comes a point where the definition is just slightly stretched. http://images.propertyfinder.com/imageServ...874777&number=0 Billy Shears Edited April 17, 2006 by BillyShears

Its time to buy
i ve seen worse when the gap is about 2 inches How on earth will repairs be made one day without demolishing one of the walls Asking for trouble And the example you ve given is a poor mans detached house - Edited April 17, 2006 by notanewmember
BillyShears
i ve seen worse when the gap is about 2 inches How on earth will repairs be made one day without demolishing one of the walls Asking for trouble And the example you ve given is a poor mans detached house - If you look very carefully at the house on the right there's a window in the gap. And if this is a poor man's detached house, there are some worse ones around my way. Not so close together but some detached houses that are so small they surely must be 2 up 2 down. Edit: But if that's a poor man's detached house, why is it on at 150K? Billy Shears Edited April 17, 2006 by BillyShears
Guest Charlie The Tramp
Surely there comes a point where the definition is just slightly stretched. The builder on my estate built some in the late 90s with 3 foot spacing and you could jump from the front door to the pavement. He must have learnt a lesson as when finishing the final developement learnt what the word detached should mean. These houses are very slow in selling when they now go up for sale. BuyingBear
There's no such thing anymore when it comes to the latest new build, all 'posh' houses are three storey terraces, really posh houses might have their own wall with a 1ft gap. The bubble may go but this crap will remain, welcome to modern Britain.

FTB1
Thats a semi detached! No, it is just about detached, you just can't see that from the picture (in fact, you can hardly see it when you are standing in front of it! ) I know this road quite well, and this is priced about £40k cheaper than similar houses that have come on lately. I am not sure if it is the close proximity to the next house effecting the value, or the fact that they have ruined the front of an originally nice victorian house.
