Jason
That is shocking. Although, I would expect anyone with a CCJ to have more than one, distorting the stats.

It appears that more and more are being led along the path to IVAs rather than bankruptcy by the Insolvency Service. Even then the stats for bankruptcy are looking very bleak. If one court as my signature can have lists as shown, what are all the other County Courts hearings like. The next stats for repossessions for Q1 will be published on Friday 5th May and will now include number of landlords ( Social and Private ) figures for possession. Bankruptcy stats for Q1 will be published on Friday 12th May.
BufferBear Bitcoin Bull
My old chief clerk (county court) once told me "if you haven't had a CCJ, you haven't lived!"
FollowTheBear
I nearly had a CCJ against me when my flatmate didn't set up the Council Tax DD that we agreed. I was paying him my half and he was keeping it. It's quite easy for it to happen in shared housing.
null_nil
From This Is Money (15-Apr): Nearly 10% of adults face debt orders. It's quite low if you compare to some other countries - in some of them one in four (male - I don't know the numbers in female population) has a ccj
Guest Charlie The Tramp
The proportion of bankruptcies among the 18 to 29-age group has jumped from 7.9% in 2001 to 18.7% last year. The average age of a bankrupt has fallen from 43 to 41 in the last four years but female bankrupts tend to be younger than male bankrupts. The Generation who are jumping on the debt bandwaggon.
