Quite a few sellers are selling without buying another property (no upward chain) and a significant number with prices reduced (new price) or back on the market again. By no means flying off the shelves around here. :)

I've noticed that in the South, I was looking at the lower end of the market and probably at least 1/3 are 'no chain'. Some of the sellers even said that they would move into rented for a quick sale. A few of them were empty - tenants moved out. It made me think that people are selling up. Prices are still nuts however and some that have 'sold' seem to be back in a couple of months and with an increase in price..........

  • repossession
  • couple moving in together
  • quick sale to pay off debts / avoid repossession
  • retiree selling to rent
