Bae Sells Airbus Stake- Wings No Longer Necessary Says Spokesman.

Recommended Posts

Officials at BAe now admit that their proposed sell-out is the result of a breakthrough in aircraft design.

An ashen-faced BAe spokesman said “We have consulted with a number of our partners in the aerospace field, and it is now clear to us that wing manufacture is a thing of the past. We have been assured that, contrary to what we always believed, aeroplanes don’t need wings anymore. It’s got something to do with new paradigms. So the board feels that there is no other option open to them but to get out while we still can. We’re all gobsmacked, sick as parrots, boyo.”

Meanwhile, Airbus were up-beat about the situation. Airbus’s Technical Director, Eur Ing Dr Flabawayre Fuselage explained. “ It’s true. It all started when we took delivery of Rolls-Royce’s new economy engines. During tests it became clear that once they began to spin, that was enough. The wings were a total waste of money. The planes just went up and up, and now we don’t see how they will ever come down. They’re still going up now according to the papers.”

“Naturally, we’ve thrown out all our old textbooks. Yes, it makes me smile to think of those idiots like Brunel and Newton. Thank God we got to the true understanding when we did. Engineering’s a doddle now we don’t have to worry about gravity. And, do you know? We discovered something really amazing. All those crashes never really happened the way people think. It wasn’t the plane coming down, because they never do. It was the earth rising up unexpectedly all along. Apparently it was someone in a Halifax that first pointed this out.”

Excellent !! :D

Although the true story is not so funny, this I fear is the final nail in coffin of the UK aerospace industry, and another major blow for our manufacturing base.

But I'm sure all the directors, and shareholders will do alright !!

Shame you can only can, sell something once though.
