Regulation Outlines From Odpm

Recommended Posts

ODPM Summary

Will these new powers be used?

Could be interesting.

Empty Dwelling Management Orders (EDMO) - will provide councils with powers to secure occupation of privately owned homes left empty for more than six months without good reason.

I wonder what constitutes a good reason?

Amusing how they can't even get LA's to sort out their own vacant properties. But they reckon the LA's can sort out the private sector.

John P makes me laugh (to the point of being sick).

Agree with you on that one. Just the Government trying to appear like they care / are doing something for people without actually doing anything.

What is an empty home? If you spend one night there every 6 months they can't touch it and how would they monitor it, employ (even) more people?

Or is there some council tax loophole for these homes, whereby they are exempt, that they want closing?
