Ticket prices to soar at Manchester United

Last Modified: 10 Apr 2006

Manchester United supporters are to be hit with an inflation-busting
12.3
per cent average rise in season ticket prices for next season.

Just some tongue-in-cheek comment as I do not believe tickets are in the CPI items (along with anything else that may go up in price this year). But here we have a staple for many--sport. Imagine those who are struggling to pay their mortgages and council tax having their one interest taken away by inflationary rises in ticket cost.

IMHO, inflation is ramping up rapidly and the longer Gordon denies it the worse the problem will become. He just needs to go with the flow of the world and raise the rates.

same with Arsenal aswell next year... note that both clubs have themselves taken on colossal mortgages - time to raise the rents indeed!

ah these redundant western debt-laden business models. It's all about the rise of the east these days - money extorted from a people rich in natural resources and low in material expectations and laundered abroad.

Not surprised United are raising their prices - it's going to cost a few quid to replace an entire midfield....
