Uranium Exposure

Recommended Posts

Uranium is a theme that has been touted by several investment websites (dailyreckoning, moneyweek). I agree with the view that uranium has a lot of upside given the soaring energy demands from China and the increase in oil prices.

I caught this article in the BBC.

Do you think it is worth getting investment exposure to Uranium. If so, would you know how to go about it?

Try Strathmore Minerals which is on the Toronto Venture Exchange or USEC Inc. which is on the NY Stock Exchange.

Two very different companies so do some research if you're thinking of buying and don't just jump in. And if you're not sure how to buy US / Canadian stocks have a look at Internaxx which is a joint-venture brokerage from TD Waterhouse and Fortis (?) based in Luxembourg (but don't let that put you off).

Anyone know of any UK listed uranium miners?

BHP Billiton, but you are a bit late, they have almost doubled in price in the past 12 months

BHP is about the purest uranium play you will get in the UK....they bought a big stake in WMC(aus) last year whao are a large uranium miner.

other than that have a look on the toronto exchange...uranium resources inc don't look too bad value.

other than that my other play would be tate+lyle(yes it's sugar!!!!!....bio-ethanol is kicking off and they are #1 sugar producer)
