Guest pioneer31 Report post Posted April 3, 2006 I'm currently looking to rent a room in Devon. I've looked around at properties but they're all very pricey for what they are (no surprises there). However, I am curious to know if there is a GOOD time to rent? Is there a time of the year when I can get a better deal? Also, how does bartering fare? If I beat someone down, is it likely to be successful, and more importantly, will they bear a grudge - I don't want a landlord sticking pins in his voodoo doll each night because I successfully beat him down. Cheers.
MrShed Report post Posted April 3, 2006 The only better time to rent really is say between November and January....not many people are willing to move over the Xmas period so you may get cheaper rents. Certainly the worst time is between May and September.
Guest pioneer31 Report post Posted April 6, 2006 I'm wondering why rents are so high (I'm looking in Exeter). Lots of places available, so it should be a buyers market
