Whereabouts? I've just been around the DT website and can't see anything about 10-12% inflation.

In relation to old people, and bills i believe:

A Treasury spokesman said that Grant Thornton's analysis "is not a measure of inflation".

heh

He added: "Since the Bank of England was made independent by the Government, inflation has been within its target range. Over the same period, thanks to reforms to the tax and benefit system, pensioner households are on average £1,350 a year better off."

eerrmm..

Why is it when a politician speaks I feel like they've swallowed a dictionary of Orwellian doublespeak? (poverty is wealth in this case).

Because they are.

Pensioners have suffered real rates of inflation as high as 12 per cent over the past three years, around a third higher than the official rates claimed by the Government.

So the official rate of inflation must be 9% , according to this journalist.

Students rate was at 2% and then it seemed to esacalte somewhat.

There were huge amounts at 8 - 12 % - this bracket included anyone over 28 it seemed or not in study.

The govt. figures are so far off it's ridiculous and we know it. How does one accept such blatant deception form ones govt. (again) without them losing credibility.

Beats me and that's why I may tune in, turn on and drop out'.

Because you're not as daft as most of the Great British Public.
