Prospective Migrants Report Uk Market Reality

Recommended Posts

Someone's complaining that their neighbour's house went on the market at £50k less than their own!

Thanks for inadvertantly sending me to that site, I'd been looking for a good resource on New Zealand for a while.

"Gotta Get Out Of This Place". Very appropriate.

If you want to know about NZ, just ask. I am a Kiwi who is now UK resident. House prices are just as unaffordable there, hospital waiting lists are longer, IR's are higher, it is far from anywhere and no central heating in houses. Granted the weather is better than here and it is a beautiful country, great for a working holliday but finance wise and employment & career wise it is a long way behind the UK.

Yeah I know :( as I'm in contact with someone over there. Whilst I worked in London I came across a number of Kiwis who'd come across and wondered why on earth they wanted to leave such a beautiful looking country to this dump !

Still, I guess there's pros and cons to every decision. You're right IRs are higher there and have been consistently yet it doesn't seem to have stopped unsustainable rates of house price inflation.

I plan to go on holiday there at some point. Thanks for the offer of advice though, much appreciated.
